SHEPHERD'S CREEK ALPACAS is located just outside the village of Trumansburg, an easy 10 miles from Ithaca or Watkins Glen, NY. We raise and breed quality alpacas and operate our alpaca product shop in the beautiful Finger Lakes region.

TO ARRANGE A *VISIT TO THE FARM AND SHOP, PLEASE **CALL OR EMAIL US, PREFERABLY AT LEAST A DAY BEFORE.
[Farm visits will not be available the weekends of 11/2-3 or 11/8-10, as we will be traveling to alpaca shows those weekends. See the special holiday dates below when we will be open, but not scheduling individual farm visits.]

When you visit the farm you can learn about the alpacas, feed them and feel their wonderful fleece, and even take a selfie with them! After you meet the alpacas, please plan to do some shopping in SHEPHERDS CREEK ALPACAS FARM SHOP! We have beautiful hand-made accessories, yarns & rovings from our own alpaca fleece, as well as commercially made sweaters, socks, hats, alpaca dolls, teddy bears & more!

* There is a small fee to visit and experience an "alpaca encounter". $15 / person for 1-3 people, $10 / person for 4 or more. Larger groups, please call for special pricing. Visits are usually about an hour in duration.
(There is no charge for a visit just to the Farm Shop, but you still need to call us to schedule.)

**Please keep in mind that we are a small family farm and we don't have regular hours, so we need to be able to open the store and prepare the alpacas for your visit! Since we will open our farm for your visit, we appreciate a call if for some reason you can't make it at your visit time.

SPECIAL OPEN FARM DAYS (no charge & no scheduled visits on these days):

About Shepherd's Creek Alpacas:
People ALWAYS ask us…"How did you ever get into this?". An educator (Barb) and a physician (Marc), we stumbled on these delightful animals in 2003, fell in love, and began a life journey that was both unforeseen and wonderful! We now keep a herd of 12 to 20 alpacas, an alpaca farm store.
Our herd has evolved to include some fiber animals which we will sell to good homes as pets and fiber producers, foundation girls with proven birthing histories, and elite alpacas who are proving themselves in the show ring. We usually have about 20 alpacas on the farm. We treat each and every alpaca with individual attention and care, which we believe is the reason our health and birthing history is excellent. We feed and clean twice a day, interacting with our animals using trust-building husbandry techniques. People are forever surprised when the alpacas come running when they see us, or when we call "paca, paca, paca!". All of the youngsters are halter trained and most of them will come up for a sniff or a kiss.
