| Again this year, Empire Alpaca Association will be bringing in a leading camelid
veterinarian and providing a day of free seminars for veterinarians and vet students.
This year, Dr. Toni Cotton will conduct various seminars on alpaca health. The session
will be held at The
Renaissance Hotel in Syracuse, NY.
Topics will include:
- Eimeria Macusaniensis and Mycoplasma Haemolama in Alpacas
- Reproductive Hormones in Alpacas
- Reproductive Ultrasounds in Alpacas
- Reproductive Case Presentations in Female Alpacas
The Case Presentations section will include reproductive exams and ultrasounds on live alpacas, including a number of “problem cases”. This will be an excellent learning opportunity with one of the country’s leading camelid reproductive vets. The ultrasound vendor, Aloka, will be available on premises to discuss ultrasound equipment.
We will start the day at 10:00AM so many of you can drive there Friday morning. Lunch will be provided. Classes will end around 5PM.
Space will be limited to 80 people due to room constraints, so we will likely "sell out" this year. If you register for the seminar and later decide cannot attend, please contact Steve McCarthy at
Spruceridgefarm@aol.com so I can remove you from the list and allow another vet in your place.
Walk-ins WILL NOT be permitted this year.
Empire Alpaca Association sincerely appreciates the dedication and assistance vets provide to Empire members and the alpaca community. We are partners with our vets in the health and well-being of our animals.
Thank you for all you do for us!
