Alpacatrax is a family-owned and managed farm in the Hudson Valley, located in Columbia County, minutes from the Taconic Parkway. We specialize in breeding and raising fine quality alpacas both for sale to other family farms and for their high quality fiber. Alpacatrax is well-known in the Hudson Valley by fiber artists who use our fiber products- raw fleece right off the animal at sheering time- roving and batting- as well as specialty yarns in skeins or cones, all processed by an award-winning micro-mill in Oregon. In addition, we sell original-designed 100% alpaca shawls, scarves, ponchos, blankets and throws in exclusive retail outlets in Westchester County. Our yarn products are highlighted at the Dutchess County Sheep and Wool Festival in mid-October each year as well as at our spring open-house held in June for fiber enthusiasts and guild members throughout the Hudson Valley. We also offer blended yarns from our alpaca and merino sheep herd.
Feel free to contact us about a farm visit anytime of the year. Visits are by appointment only. In the spring, our herb garden is coming into bloom and in the fall, our vegetable garden abounds with all types of produce which we are happy to share with visitors. Come sit and relax on our wide veranda overlooking the Catskill Mountains. Kids are always welcome.
