At the end of 2002, we took the plunge and invested in something more tangible than the stock market. We had bought some land, built the house, and began the quest for the grazers we would like to raise. After much research, we were fascinated by alpacas. We were disillusioned by all other livestock for various reasons. Alpacas' gentle nature and exotic looks hooked us.
We love our little herd. Our six children play an active role in their daily care. We learn something new everyday. We are learning to trust our intuition with these animals. We've experienced many emotions over the years: joy, sadness, tranquility, frustration, and pride, to name a few.
Our herd is of various colors. We have grays, fawns, whites, browns, blacks, beiges, and appaloosas. We are breeding for conformation and quality fleece production. Our breeding program has really progressed. We have a wonderful "crop" of cria to show in 2009. We have many famous lines represented in our herd. The cria due in 2009 all have Accoyo or Alianza in them.
The contacts we have made in the alpaca industry have been amazing. We have never failed to be made welcome. Even our dumbest questions have been answered kindly. We hope to emulate the treatment we have received at other farms on our own.
We would be happy to have visitors. We could answer some questions or maybe just introduce other newcomers to a wonderful creature. Come see us!!
